Deacon Wilms

For me, music was never a hobby or a career it’s been a lifelong calling.

Being able to take band practice in 6th grade, was all I needed.

My passion for all types of music began while listening to the family’s console radio in the early 50s same time R&R and R&B were beginning to be heard.

My Parents finally bought me a set of Slingerlands in the mid 50s. In 1958 I joined a band , it was the band members that gave me the nick name Deacon.

Soon Soul, Jazz and Funk completely took over my passion to play that type of music.

Around 2015 a friend helped me set up to play my Music on the internet.

I am very proud and excited to be part of the music passion I dearly love at Soul Groove Radio.
