Hi, I’m Kim Tavares
Born in Boston, MA, raised in Duxbury, MA/Midland, PA in the USA.

I’m a new radio presenter to Soul Groove Radio and I’m overjoyed to bring you “Timeless Tunes with Kim Tavares”

This is an opportunity for me to share some of my musical influences from the 60’, 70’s and 80’s. That era has shaped the way I write/record and perform my original tracks.

I am a lover of music, especially good lyrics that tell a story! Having spent over thirty years in the music business, I’m no stranger to spending countless hours in recording studios, performing at venues in and around New England, Pittsburgh and Canada. In 2022, I performed two nights at The Jazz Cafe in London, where I was the opening act for Dexter Wansel.

Becoming a “Radio Presenter” has always been one of my dreams and now I’m adding that title to my already busy schedule. I’m currently in my 22nd year as a Boston Police Officer and hope to retire sometime in 2024 to pursue my music career full time.

My singer/songwriter name is “Kim Tavar”
and I released my self-written debut album “My Story” in March of 2021, which included some, memorable UK Chart topping hits including “Isaiah”, “1+1 Don’t=3” “Time Won’t Wait”.  My second album, “The Next Stage” was released in May of 2023 and definitely brings forth a nostalgic vibe with smooth heart felt R&B ballads, funky 80’s/90’s style mid-temp & up-tempo dance tracks that highlight my vocal range and clever songwriting skills. All songs were written by me with the exception of a well thought out re-make of the late Karin Jones’, 1982, rare groove track titled “Last Night”.  I made sure to keep the original integrity of the song by not “over singing” but just adding the right touch of background/adlibs  while keeping the song fresh.

I also dibble and dabble as an actress and I’m a member of the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. I love to people watch, travel, laugh, cook, eat and I make great cocktails!

Most importantly, I am a mother of two of the best sons in the world and I have  five beautiful grandchildren that I love dearly.
