Mike Goodall

I started off my DJ Career way back in West London when I was 14 in 1973 with my best mate Paul Wright, making our own sound system with a 12 valve amp and a homemade twin deck with Garrard SP25 Mk2 turntables with mixer faders.

Throughout my childhood and teens I collected music on vinyl, most of the Motown hits. My interest and collection included the likes of The Chi-L. Lites, Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, The Isley Brothers, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Boyz II Man and many more, my favourite band was and still is The Stylistics.

For three years I was the resident DJ and Sports News Presenter (on in house TV) at St Marys University Twickenham (1977-1980) with my bestman Pete Dando, when I got married in 1983.

My DJ career took me all around London Boroughs gigging at all types of venues for different occasions. Right up to 2000 I was out and about gigging and had to retire due to an arm operation.

I rejuvenated my DJ career when I started my new job in 2012, which allowed me to use large sound recording equipment and lighting systems up to the present date, I am the resident DJ at my workplace.

I joined Soul Groove Radio in July 2020 as a presenter and website designer.

I look forward in presenting a wide range music to all our listeners every week on my Thursday ‘Soul Grooves’ Show from 6 to 8pm.
