Tesh Parmer

I started DJing as a hobby back in the mid 80’s at the age of 15, mainly at house parties an all-dayers. I then got involved in DJing & putting on soul events in his home town of Oldham and surrounding areas playing a mixture of soul, jazz- funk, RnB and hip-hop.

In the early 90’s I joined the legendary Soul Nation 104.6fm station, where I cut my teeth as a radio DJ.  I also DJ’d on Sunset Radio in Manchester and on Fresh FM in Leicester whilst studying there.

I took an ‘involuntary sabbatical’ from DJing as family life and jobs took priority.

Now based down South, I am a norther at heart and my musical foundation is built on the sound system culture and ‘blues parties’ of Manchester, and the Street Soul scene and cites The Soul Control Sound System as a major influence in my musical journey.

I got back playing on a regular basis at events with the Soul Fever collective from Watford.

I joined Soul Groove Radio in mid 2020, my ‘Taking Care of Business’ show on a Saturday from 8pm to 10pm playing Neo / Independent Soul and Old School classics.
