\/>Kilbride,\u00a0Scotland\u00a0.<\/p><p>It\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0take\u00a0me\u00a0long\u00a0to\u00a0get\u00a0involved\u00a0in\u00a0Mobile\u00a0Discos\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0age\u00a0of<br \/>13!\u00a0Then\u00a0getting\u00a0my\u00a0first\u00a0nightclub\u00a0gig\u00a0a\u00a0year\u00a0later\u00a0(they\u00a0believed\u00a0I<br \/>was\u00a018\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0time!!)<\/p><p>I\u00a0remember\u00a0that\u00a0feeling\u00a0at\u00a014\u00a0years\u00a0old,\u00a0climbing\u00a0a\u00a0huge\u00a0staircase\u00a0to<br \/>this\u00a080s\u00a0disco\u00a0\u201cparadise\u201d\u00a0called\u00a0Zanzi-Bar\u00a0in\u00a0Glasgow,\u00a0a\u00a0traditional<br \/>Mecca\u00a0style\u00a0club,\u00a0open\u00a0genre,\u00a0a\u00a0capacity\u00a0of\u00a03000\u00a0and\u00a0with\u00a0lots\u00a0of\u00a0fake<br \/>palm\u00a0trees,\u00a0neon\u00a0lights,\u00a0fog\u00a0and\u00a0lasers\u2026.\u00a0I\u00a0was\u00a0hooked.\u00a0Within\u00a0a<br \/>fortnight\u00a0I\u00a0was\u00a0resident\u00a0DJ.<\/p><p>That\u00a0for\u00a0me\u00a0was\u00a0the\u00a0start\u00a0of\u00a0a\u00a0long\u00a0career\u00a0doing\u00a0something\u00a0I\u00a0loved,\u00a0a<br \/>career\u00a0that\u00a0seen\u00a0me\u00a0work\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0majority\u00a0of\u00a0clubs\u00a0in\u00a0central\u00a0Scotland,<br \/>then\u00a0move\u00a0to\u00a0Spain\u00a0in\u00a01988,\u00a0first\u00a0spending\u00a0two\u00a0seasons\u00a0in\u00a0Salou,\u00a0one<br \/>year\u00a0in\u00a0Tenerife,\u00a0one\u00a0in\u00a0Benidorm\u00a0and\u00a0one\u00a0in\u00a0Magaluf\u00a0(I\u00a0was\u00a0young\u00a0and<br \/>needed\u00a0the\u00a0money.)<\/p><p>I\u00a0moved\u00a0to\u00a0Germany\u00a0in\u00a01993,\u00a0and\u00a0worked\u00a0extensively\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0clubs\u00a0of<br \/>Hamburg,\u00a0and\u00a0surrounding\u00a0areas,\u00a0most\u00a0notably\u00a0I\u00a0was\u00a0resident\u00a0at\u00a0\u201cDie<br \/>Insel\u201d,\u00a0Hamburg\u00a0for\u00a0three\u00a0years.\u00a0The\u00a0club\u00a0where\u00a0Germany\u2019s\u00a0rich\u00a0and<br \/>famous\u00a0used\u00a0to\u00a0hang\u00a0out\u00a0every\u00a0weekend,\u00a0and\u00a0I\u00a0suppose\u00a0the\u00a0German<br \/>equivalent\u00a0to\u00a0Stringfellows\u00a0in\u00a0London.<\/p><p>A\u00a0had\u00a0a\u00a0passion\u00a0for\u00a0Soul,\u00a0music\u00a0and\u00a0all\u00a0its\u00a0sub\u00a0variants\u00a0(House,\u00a0Reggae,<br \/>Motown\u00a0etc)\u00a0and\u00a0this\u00a0was\u00a0reflected\u00a0every\u00a0weekend.<\/p><p>In\u00a0the\u00a0year\u00a02000,\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0ripe\u00a0old\u00a0age\u00a0of\u00a032,\u00a0I\u00a0took\u00a0up\u00a0a\u00a0full-time<br \/>career\u00a0in\u00a0IT,\u00a0and\u00a0my\u00a0DJing\u00a0became\u00a0more\u00a0of\u00a0a\u00a0part\u00a0time\u00a0number.\u00a0I\u00a0left<br \/>Germany\u00a0in\u00a02005\u00a0to\u00a0move\u00a0back\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0UK\u00a0and\u00a0again\u00a0played\u00a0the\u00a0circuit\u00a0in<br \/>Scotland\u00a0before\u00a0my\u00a0main\u00a0career\u00a0took\u00a0me\u00a0back\u00a0overseas,\u00a0this\u00a0time\u00a0to<br \/>Z\u00fcrich\u00a0in\u00a0Switzerland,\u00a0where\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0been\u00a0based\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0last\u00a012\u00a0years.<\/p><p>Switzerland\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0the\u00a0kind\u00a0of\u00a0country\u00a0that\u00a0you\u00a0come\u00a0to\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0night<br \/>life,\u00a0so\u00a0it\u00a0became\u00a0the\u00a0final\u00a0nail\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0coffin,\u00a0and\u00a0I\u00a0made\u00a0the\u00a0decision<br \/>to hang up my headphones when I moved here. I\u00a0remember\u00a0that\u00a0feeling\u00a0at\u00a014\u00a0years\u00a0old,\u00a0climbing\u00a0a\u00a0huge\u00a0staircase\u00a0tothis\u00a080s\u00a0disco\u00a0\u201cparadise\u201d\u00a0called\u00a0Zanzi-Bar\u00a0in\u00a0Glasgow,\u00a0a\u00a0traditionalMecca\u00a0style\u00a0club,\u00a0open\u00a0genre,\u00a0a\u00a0capacity\u00a0of\u00a03000\u00a0and\u00a0with\u00a0lots\u00a0of\u00a0fakepalm\u00a0trees,\u00a0neon\u00a0lights,\u00a0fog\u00a0and\u00a0lasers\u2026.\u00a0I\u00a0was\u00a0hooked.\u00a0Within\u00a0afortnight\u00a0I\u00a0was\u00a0resident\u00a0DJ.
